As a young violinist, Montreal native David Montreuil, BMus’19, GradDipPerf’20, MMus’23, PostGradArtistDiploma’24, was inspired to study at McGill because of its great reputation and word-of-mouth from friends.
Montreuil thrived at McGill, where he discovered his passion for the viola and went on to win the 2024 Golden Violin Award, a prestigious prize given to an outstanding string player enrolled in the Schulich School of Music. The award supported him financially during his studies and gave him the opportunity to take on projects he might not have been able to otherwise.
Now a professional violist, Montreuil shares how the Schulich School of Music helped him get where he is today.
